Jabir Nagaria

Mr Jabir Nagaria is a Consultant Neurosurgeon based at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.  Mr Nagaria has worked as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery, Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham before taking up his post in Belfast.  His main area of interest is Complex spine Surgery, Neurosurgery for pain, spinal injections and peripheral nerves.  Mr Nagaria has vast experience in dealing with brain and spinal tumours, vascular neurosurgery, hydrocephalus and traumatic brain injuries.  He has received his formal neurosurgical training in Ireland at the 3 units based in Belfast, Cork and Dublin.  He was also appointed as Clinical Lecturer in Neurosciences based at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

Mr Nagaria is actively involved in research and has published extensively particularly in the European Spine Journal.  He has presented at various national and international meetings.  His formal research post was based at the Neurosurgical Unit in Derriford Hospital, Plymouth with an emphasis on patient based outcome measures following neurosurgery.  He is also involved in teaching medical students from Queens University in Belfast.
